on my guest OS which is XP. when I go into control panel to adjust sound properties it says "no audio device" I have VitrualBox sound settings set

how do I fix this "no audio device" bug?

It's not a bug, just user error. Use Intel AC’97 controller instead.
If you really want to use the soundblaster 16 you will need to install the drivers in XP manually to be able to use it.
