How do you create the virtual CD content

Post by MacNala »

How do you create the virtual CD content?

I need to have a virtual CD which will contain a bootable application which is attachable to any of the many machines I have created. I have the CD but cannot find the instructions how to copy this to a Virtual CD.

How do you create the virtual CD content?

Use a burning application and make a iso from the cd.
Btw, this has nothing to do with vbox.

Sorry I do not understand. I have a bootable CD which contains the application in question.
How do I get it into a folder that I can access from the Devices>CD/DVD Devices>Choose a virtual CD/DVD disk file command ?

I now have an image file with the .iso extension. Where do I put it to be available to be used by my VMs?

Add it to the media manager, then you can select it for any VM.

According to the manual Open the Virtual Media Manager and click the Add button. When I do this there is no Add button.
So how do you add an .ISO file to the media manager?

In version 4.0.* the media manager is not used for much, and the add *button* is no longer there. Once you attach it to a guest in the storage section it will appear in the media manage and be able to be used by any other guest.
