Move W7 guest from Mac Host to Linux Host: NIC drivers

I installed a Windows 7 guest on my home machine, which is the latest release of MacOS on a 2yr old MBP. Everything works fine.
I moved the image to my Linux laptop and the issue arose where my NIC is detected but no drivers are detected.
When I do "manage computer", and click on Device Manager, I see one thing under "Other devices": and Ethernet Controller. I guess this means that Windows has properly detected the card.
There's a little yellow exclamation mark, upon double-clicking I see that the device status is the following:
I tried to update drive, to no avail. I tried re-installing the Virtualbox Guest Additions, unfortunately no success.
Anyone out there with some Windows knowledge with some hints on how to get this working?
