I have a need to manage a virtualdisk (increase size) and have noted the way to do this is to run VboxManage modifyhd.
I run Vbox on a Win7 Ult PC and have not needed to use VboxManage until now. I can't find the instructions how to execute VboxManage.
How exactly do I do it?
Newbie question how do you run VboxManage

Re: Newbie question how do you run VboxManage
The VBoxManage application is installed in the path where you installed VirtualBox, usually c:\program files\oracle\virtualbox. Just open a cmd window, change to that directory and execute VBoxManage.

You should also look at the CloneVDI tool (see sticky topic in "Windows Hosts") for a friendlier way to increase disk size, among other things.

Increasing the size of a virtual hard disk image is easily possible with VBoxMange as of version 4.0.

Re: Newbie question how do you run VboxManage
It's possible yes, but earning the "easily" modifier would I think require GUI support at the very least - in addition to some kind of newbie protection against modifying the base element of a snapshot tree (the latter being a problem with in-place mods in general).Frank Mehnert wrote:Increasing the size of a virtual hard disk image is easily possible with VBoxMange as of version 4.0.
