Oracle VM server release 2.2.1 cannot resolve internet

Post by tofran »

Hi,

My Virtualbox is running on top of WIN/XP and I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 as guest on it without problem. The guests resolve the internet connection as on host without intervention during install.

On my next guest installation I am trying to install Oracle VM Server r. 2.2.1. Unfortunately this installation do NOT resolve the internet connection as the Ubuntu installation did. How do I resolve this manually ??

Until now I have made the DNS visible for the Oracle VM Server by manually put in the GATEWAY 10.0.2.2 and static IPADDR name in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0. This make me able to ping to the internet and resolve the hosts out there. But I am not able to fx. use wget to access websites. Which is possible on Ubuntu. I have flush out the iptables, so the firewall should be switch off.

What am I missing to make it work as on Ubuntu ??

Best regards
Tom Frank
