Hi all,
This is my first post so apologies if I am in the wrong forum or anything.
I have installed Windows XP Home SP3 as a guest on VirtualBox 4 on an Ubuntu 10.10 host. I am trying to install software on the XP guest from a DVD. When I click on the install icon I get an error "D:\Start.exe is not a valid Win32 application". The DVD installed fine on another native XP machine I have so I figured it must be something about the VirtualBox environment it doesn't like. The DVD contains course materials for an OU course I am doing. The software contains audio and video files but I gather it is some sort of database as opposed to a media file. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this I would be grateful for suggestions.
Many thanks

Re: Win32 application error on XP guest
Turn on passthrough for the CD/DVD in the storage section of the guest settings and see if this helps.

Re: Win32 application error on XP guest
Hi, i've enabled the CD/DVD passthrough and the DVD has now installed fine. Thanks for your help.
