Hi,
Im using Virtualbox 4.04, Win 7x64 Host, Win XP SP3 guest.
I tried activating 3D support, used safe mode to install 3D guest additions. But when I restart the guest, right after the XP booting screen, it crashes.
Its not a blue screen or something within the guest, no the entire virtual machine crashes.
Does somebody by chance know a solution?

More info about your Host and the Guest settings would certainly help.

Re: Win XP Guest crashes if 3D acceleration is enabled
Thanks, I did that two hours ago and it indeed worked. The XP Guest now starts with 3D Acceleration. But the game I am trying to start still will not start... keeps crashing, even with wined3d. crap.

Start the game under the os it was made for, and that native.

Re: Win XP Guest crashes if 3D acceleration is enabled
thats the one thing I do not want to do. Because I want to play it in windowed mode, but the game (Empire Earth) just does not allow that... The only solution (that I know of) is a virtual machine.
