Backup of virtualbox?

I have the .vdi files on another partion than Windows.And just incase I have to install Windows again is it enough if I bacup the folder virtualbox and replace it after I have installed Windows?

Depends on the version of VirtualBox you are using.

Then you should have the entire configuration and data file on the other partition/drive. Then the only thing that resides on the Windows side is the main config file of VB that holds the registered VMs, which you can import after a reinstall of Windows.
