AGP, PGI and PCI-E Recognition on VirtualBox

Post by FaNaTiKoRn »

Hi.

I got serious problems when I try to Install mi Nvidia GT220 graphic card on Ubuntu's VM.

My host is on Windows XP sp3 and the Guest Aditions DON'T WORK because the Drivers are uncompatibles (Windows to Unix).

So, I need a technical support (or something else) to improve the 4.0.4 version of VirtualBox to provide to de Virtual Machine the "internal cards" suport...

Thank's for your attention...

And sorry for my English.

..::SPANISH VERSION OF MY POST::..

Hola.

You can not install video drivers in the guest. VirtualBox needs to use its own driver.
Install the guest additions (in the guest) Instead.
First you need a few packages to be able to install the guest additions in the Ubuntu guest. In a terminal run the following command:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install dkms build-essential linux-headers-generic
Then in the device tab at the top left select Install guest additions.
Open nautilus and click on the CD. It should open and ask if you want to autorun, say yes.
Reboot when the install is over. Then you use the mouse click drag to change the screen size or the host+F toggle to go in and out of full screen.

Also while in the main VirtualBox manager if you press F1 the users manual will pop-up so you can read how to do everything in VirtualBox.
