Hi there,
I have set up my Windows Server 2008 R2 acting as an active directory domain controller (DC). This is done because I need to develop SharePoint code, and sharepoint needs AD etc. Long story.
But to the point: Can I turn on this computer when I am connected to my corporate network? Or will the new virtual DC start talking to the DCs on the corporate network?
I seem to remember this being a big problem back in the nineties with NT servers running on VMWare hosts. I really don't want to piss off the local IT dept..

Re: Windows Domain Controller guest
You probably should keep the AD in its own space and not in the space with you Corp. Domain.
I use internal connection and setup an Internal guest to the AD to make this happen. See Setup Windows Domain in VirtualBox for a visual.
