Hi!
I'm running VirtualBox 3.2.12 and I'm having the strangest of issues on a freshly installed Windows 7 (SP1) guest here: when the guest has just started, I can let VirtualBox issue the ACPI shutdown signal and it will shut down immediately. But if I let the guest idle for a few hours, it completely ignores the ACPI signal -- I have to remote desktop into the guest and shut it down by clicking on Start -> Shutdown.
I have disabled Sleep and Hibernation, Windows Search Indexing and Scheduled Defragmentation on the guest and it's not doing anything at all when this happens.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I'm not completely clear on your problem, but it sounded similar to mine and I found this solution that helped me.
