limit the size of differencing disks?

Post by mvanhorn »

Is there a way to limit the size of differencing disks? I have an immutable vdi, and the differencing disk resets each time the VM is started, but is there a way to limit the size that the differencing disk can get while the VM is running?

Thanks!

Only by limiting the size of the partition inside the disk (using a guest partitioning tool). Otherwise what you're asking for is a virtual disk failure and a guest OS crash. If needed, you would have to change the partition size in the immutable drive, since of course disk changes are lost from the guest.
