WinXp 2D/3D performance

Post by pixecs »

Hi,

On a linux host (openSUSE 11.3 (x86_64), kernel 2.6.34.7-0.7-desktop x86_64, KDE: 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) "release 3", AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, 3.9 GiB RAM, ATI Radeon 5770 1GiB with proprietary driver 11.1) i have a vm with WinXP SP2 (1 CPU core, 2040 MiB RAM, 2D and 3D acceleration enabled)
The performance in 2D graphic it seems to be very low - score of 248 (points) on Tom2D (2D GDI Benchmark v 1.04)

Also the performance in 3D it's not impressive - 2970 points in FurMark (v1.8.2)

Anyone know what the performance should be in 2D/3D graphics?

Bench marks for bare metal do not really work properly in a Virtual Machine.
As far as how well it works? Well YMMV and it does what it does. Not a lot you can do to change it.
