Display drivers for playing

Post by Aphecs »

Hey there,
i'm pretty new to virtualbox because i want to use it to get dungeon keeper 2 working.Well but at first a few facts.
I'm using win 7 home and win xp runs on my VM.I just installed win xp on it with service pack 3 and all updates which has been
available.I use the VM with 768mb ram,1 cpu core, and 64mb graphicsmemory and activated 3d accleration at the options. After this i installed the game but it just starts in a
pretty small window. So i gotta need real display drivers right?I just installed direct x 9.c so far and i have no clue what to do with the graphic card
where do i get drivers for it?I hope someone can help me here :)

Thx in advance

Install Guest Additions in safe Mode, see user manual.

More than some 3d features are not possible.

That are ignorable warnings. the drivers are not signed, but they works.

VMs are not good for gaming. It might work, but almost not.

Install the guest additions in safe mode, install 3d driver for your vga card on host and in the guest settings enable 3D and give the guest 64 MB VGA RAM or more.

Thats all.

As i said: It may work, mostly not.

VMs are not for gaming.

If it does not work, then it does not work.

The host must have a vga card that is 3d capable.

DirectX or OpenGL must work on the Host, else no chance.
