lto4 deck; had any experience with it?

Post by Berp »

Hi there, so I'm wondering if you fine gents could help me out with an answer or two.

My situation is that I need to get the functionality of an lto4 tape drive in linux on a brand new mac pro. At the moment we're using bru, which is fine but it's slow as ... well, slow. Just curious if anyone here has experience of doing this? Is it realistic? We're renting a hp lto that's connected via scsi but looking to buy a deck connected via sas. Are devices like these usable (through the comman terminal) with a fedora guest with an osx host?

Cheers for any help/advice you can offer.

You can't access hardware directly from a Guest, so it will not work.
