Hello All,
I have installed Virtualbox 4.0.0 on Windows XP and guest OS as MS DOS 6.22, In DOS I have installed Watcom Debugger which recognizes the function F12 key but can not detect function F11 key, I have tried the same setup in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 wherein it detects the F11 key but there are more issues.
I would like to continue with Oracle Virtualbox ... can some one help me to resolve problem. Is this a bug in virtualbox?
Regards,
Nilesh

Odd, I can send F11 to my Guests just fine. Are you sure that the keyboard is fully captured and no other application is running on the Host that might capture F11 before VB can?
As for the print screen key, if you want to use it, you have to release the keyboard from the VM first so that the Host can use it. Else it does nothing in DOS.

Re: Function F11 key is not recognized by Virtualbox 4.0.0
Yes I tried as you said, in guest DOS VM I can use funtion f12 but couldn't use Function F11, it seems it is ignoring the scan code 37 E0, I am using Dell E5410 laptop also I tried it on Compaq latptop still facing the same issue. but the same program on desktops works properly without using the Virtualbox
please find the below errors

Function F11 key is still not recognized by Virtualbox 4.3.1
Hi,
I have the same problem with VirtualBox 4.3.18 !
When I hit the F11 key it's sent to the Host not the guest.
But when I hit (for instance) Super+E I get the Windows explorer of the Guest (Windows 7) and not the one from the Host (Lubuntu 14.04).
Am I doing something wrong ?
Could it be something in the setup (OpenBox may be ?)
Any help to solve this will be greatly appreciated, as I must use the F11 key (thanks to Microsoft products) !
Cheers,
L@u

Try Alt Enter. You can also dbl-click on a window's title bar. F11 actually works for me in a W7 guest but I am using a Mac host.

I need to use F11 on Windows with Access as this is a vital function to access the elements list in Access.
I haven't found another way to get the list than using F11, even Microsoft documentation states the use of F11, no menu command !
Unfortunately, this is also the key to "super maximize" (i.e. no title bar) on Linux windows manager.
For some strange reason, when in a Windows guest, the F11 is not sent to the guest but to the host.

When I have a Windows 7 guest open on my Mac hosts, F11 "super maximizes" the W7 windows.ComputingFroggy wrote:I need to use F11 on Windows with Access as this is a vital function to access the elements list in Access.

You could try remapping the F11 key in Lubuntu. How you do that would be a question for the Ubuntu forums.

Hurrah ! !
By pure luck, I found a way to fix this : just hit the F Lock key, and it all works ok ! F11 works ok (and so is Alt+F11 which could be replaced by CTRL+G in MS Access).
