Read the User Manual? Searched the forum? It's been asked here since forever, so a little more effort doesn't hurt anyone.
Read the Forum Posting Guide before opening a topic.
VirtualBox FAQ: Check this before asking questions.
Online User Manual: A must read if you want to know what we're talking about.
Howto: Install Linux Guest Additions
Howto: Use Shared Folders on Linux Guest
See the Tutorials and FAQ section at the top of the Forum for more guides.
Try searching the forums first with Google and add the site filter for this forum.
E.g. install guest additions site:forums.virtualbox.org

But the User Manual will!!! See http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch05.html#vdidetails and http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch08.h ... -modifyvdi
Was it really so hard to read it? Took me less than 10 seconds to find the information.

Hey, instead of responding to inquiries by demeaning people, maybe you could just be helpful, without negative commentary.
True, the information was already in this forum, in a thread with 108 posts... Maybe it took you 10 seconds to find it in the help because you knew what you were looking for (you knew it was a VBoxManage command, I'm sure the poster did not know that).

You have much to learn about civility, kindness, and respect.

If you had read the user manual then you would know what's in it. If you ask a FAQ then you will irritate people and get an irritable response - get used to it. None of us are saints.

Count yourself lucky that you were not simply ignored, which is what I mostly do these days with lazy FAQers.

If the question irritates you then don't answer it. The forum is here to help people. If you don't want to help somebody then don't. Stop wasting you own time. Play nice.

You get help, what do you want?

Its our private time here, no one is paid from Oracle.

So its enough help to get the hint to look in the user manual.

who wants help that comes with a spit in the face ?
As previously said: nobody puts a gun in your head to help out, you have the very choice of ignoring any and every question you don't like the look of, and if you want to get paid, go work for microsoft.
why being rude and obnoxious ? You are trying to sound like you are better than the rest of us ! You are not God or Bill Gates or Steve Jobs and there is no need to vent your frustrations of those very facts on everyone who is asking for simple help in a forum where it is supposed to be given.
Get a life !

What a bunch of juvenile children. Do you realize that this thread is the top link on Google for people having problems figuring out how to resize their hard drives in Virtualbox? Do you realize that your nasty, childish and pathetic abusive attitude drives users away from Virtualbox? If this is your first stop looking for information on the product then why the hell would you want to get help from anyone here. Besides the point that your message is completely lost in the attitude. People don't respond well to being treated like dogs and people like me who came to this forum hoping for an answer are instead hit in the face with comments from an insecure IT nerd. Check the attitude and you'll have a happier, lower stress life.

Good grief.
