I installed PureOS 3.0 but I can't get fullscreen/resizable screen to work. it came with OSE 3.2.10 GAs pre-installed and those didn't work. They have their own 4.0.2 GAs, tried those, still no luck. Tried removing those and installing from the GA menu. No Luck. I tried rewriting the Xorg.conf file as shown in the how-tos and that didn't work. Nothing seems to work except of all things compositing.
any thoughts?

There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.

Re: PureOS and Guest Additions
from the PureOS site, worked for me...
1 - upgrade from PureOS (testing/squeeze) to actual testing (wheezy)
(please in synaptic choose: Settings > Preferences > Distribution > Prefer versions from: testing)
2 - restart the system => same problem: max resolution=1204x768
3 - remove virtualbox-ose-guest-modules-2.6.37-pureos
4 - add virtualbox-ose-guest-dkms (4.0.2-dfsg-1) + dependencies
5 - restart the system => same problem: max resolution=1204x768
6 - as root open a terminal and execute 'depmod'
7 - restart the system => Now it works
