hi,
i have the ver 4.0.2 of vb installed on my xp pc. after that i create new machine. then i want to add a iso file to my rom device.but when i click on my computer on the left the wpage is just white and no devices are listed, so how can i disable it. i only see the files from desktop and my documents type is set to all files
changing the view list also dont helped and reinstalled also

Sounds like you're new to this whole virtualisation and have little understanding of computers too. With that, it's best to read up on the material you're working with than asking things here, which take a lot longer and works on the patience of the users.

So, read the Forum Posting Guide and VirtualBox FAQ to learn some more about the program and how we would like to see posts here. Your post is a little short on information.

Ah, that problem. I've seen it before with other applications. Something on your system is bugged. See if there are any updates to your system. Another solution is to run the following in a command prompt (it must run with administrator privileges): This will check and fix any broken system files.

Last thing you can do if this doesn't work is remove VB and install it again.

no my system is all right must be a bug wih vb and reinstalling also dont helped as i write above and in other applications it shows the devices

What if you type an address in the filename bar, like C:\ and press enter, what do you get?

when i look up at search in there the devices are listet and i can browse files but when i type in at filename:
c://test.iso it says the filename is invalid

That's because you have to write the proper path, which would be C:\test.iso. Not what you wrote. Windows uses \ for folder separation, *NIX systems use /.

g:\\test.iso

is the same error

Well duh, you don't use double slashes, use single. You don't go to http:////www.virtualbox.org//downloads to get VB, now do you?
