iTunes?

Hi All,

I have a customer with Fedora Code 13 who loves it but is about to dump it because he really, really wants iTunes. (He owns an iPod and an iPhone.) None of the Linux utilities quite work right and he wants to buy music from the iTunes store as well. Plus he wants to synchronize his contacts list.

So, I was thinking of installing an XP VM on his computer. Will this work properly? Any words of wisdom shared would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

I use an XP VM myself for my iPhone and it works just fine. I can create backups, update it's firmware and restore it. But if he wants a bit more, to get his iDevice out of jail, he needs a native Windows system (been there, tried it, failed ;)).

Very cool. Thank you for the feedback.

Are you using Fedora or CentOS for your Host? And, do you know of any special considerations to get USB support working with Red Hat? (Seems to me I remember a few years back that USB and Red hat were severely hosed.)

Many thanks,

No idea about Fedora and the likes, I use Ubuntu and it just works. Never had USB issues with it that I couldn't solve (usually group membership after a fresh install of the OS). It should be the same for other distros.

Thank you. Sounds like a job for rc.local!
