Shared folders on different hosts

Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 VM runnning in VirtualBox under Windows 7. I have recently installed Ubuntu (natively) and installed VirtualBox. I want to be able to use the Windows 2000 VM under both operating systems, but whenever I try to open it in Ubuntu, it won't let me because it has a shared folder path in Windows that Ubuntu doesn't understand, as it refers to the C: directory. Is it possible to use the VM and shared folder under both Windows and Ubuntu?

Thanks, dlgn

I don't quite understand. You are having Windows 7 and Ubuntu both as VBox hosts and you would like to use the same Windows 2000 guest on both hosts, is it? Is there any reason you would like to do that?

Just so that I don't have to close all my programs and reboot whenever I want to use the virtual machine.

You puzzled me even more... You are having two computers (two hosts) and you would like to run the same virtual machine without shutting down the virtual machine? Hmmm, why don't you use headless server and connect to host using Remote Desktop?

Clarification: I am dual-booting Ubuntu and Windows 7. I have a Windows 2000 VM. I want to be able to use the VM without rebooting from Ubuntu to Windows 7.

Does anyone know of a way to do this?
