In the host terminal type cat /etc/group and post the results here.

Well I don't know about the Ubuntu build since I don't use it and Ubuntu is responsible for their build from the VirtualBox source, but the vboxusers group must be used or you will have permission problems.
In a host terminal run this:
Then add your user name to the group
Don't forget to logout at a minimum after adding/changing permissions.
In a host terminal run this:

sudo groupadd vboxusers
Code: Select all
sudo usermod -aG vboxusers <your username>-

Well omar you have two choices left. You can contact Ubuntu about this or you can remove the Ubuntu VirtualBox and install the full version from here:

thanks aloooooooooooooot nw i can share things but there is a problem if i want to copy any thing the windows say media is protected is there any way to copy things to the partition
