Disabling snapshotting for raw disks? [SOLVED]

Hello :)

I found out that VBox was storing diff files for my raw disks for each snapshot I took. Fair enough, that's a pretty cool feature, one that I don't remember seeing in VMware, for instance.

However, I'd like these raw disks to just be independent of my snapshot. No diff files, please. I found this tip, http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=26415, but the suggestion here just throws a "Could not find an open hard disk with location 'C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\aaa.vmdk'" error.

The exact error here is copy/pasted from after I first tried the command on an existing .vmdk, then tried creating a new one - the aaa.vmdk one.

Any clues on this? I don't mind editing the .vmdks myself, I just need to know what to put in there :)

Thanks in advance,
Daniel :)

FWIW, I tried changing <HardDisk uuid=... type="Normal" /> to types Writethrough, writethrough, and WriteThrough without any luck; the harddrive just disappears from the configuration once I open the VM in VBox.

That's in the .vbox main file, not the .vmdk, of course :)

Figured it out, the vmdk HAS to be attached before changing its type, or VBox has no clue what you're talking about. This post, http://forums.virtualbox.org/posting.ph ... =6&t=34450 will give more info.
