Press Host Key to switch to OS master?

Post by arutha »

I use Leopard Macos as OS master and Ubuntu as OS guest

To switch from Ubuntu (fullscreen) to Macos, I have to press first the Host key *each time* I want to come back to Leopard (actually left CMD key)

When I was using Ubuntu as OS master with WinXP as guest, I didn't have to do that : I was able to switch from one to other without any special keys

Am I missing something ?

Thanks for your help

You're not missing anything, it's the default behaviour. It's strange that you could change from guest to host on your Linux machine directly. Did you set anything on the Linux host when you were able to do this, like a mouse button for a Host feature that the Guest did not pick up (like an application switcher button)?

You may like to go into VB preferences and allow the Dock to autoshow over the guest when needed.

Note that you can also use Host-H to hide the VM.

I find myself doing both rather frequently, though do wish that something like Host-Tab would do something intelligent.
