dvd wont play in windows 7 ?

dvd wont play in windows 7 ?

absolutley a noob to all this ! just got win 7 set up on osx snow leopard , was about to junk it in favour of paralells till in found this forum! ive installed win 7 through my dvd/cd drive ok , but when i put a dvd in now with vb open with win 7 running, it plays through the osx dvd player when it should play through the win 7 media player ? help!

You have to mount the physical drive in your Guest system. Click on Devices > CD/DVD > the name of your physical drive. If the DVD doesn't play, you probably don't have DVD playback software installed on the Guest. If you do have software installed and it still doesn't play, it could be that the copy protection is preventing playback. In that case you shut down the Guest, open the VM setting and go to Storage. Select the CD/DVD drive, make sure it's hooked to the physical drive and then enable Passthrough. Start the VM and try again.

hiya , ive found a cd drive named 'e' but it isnt listed in the devices section of windows , ive done a search but it dosent come up ?
sorry im a bit new to this
