Has anybody actually got it compiled, installed, and running successfully on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard?

I've got some silly questions too:
What's wrong with the gcc tools supplied with MacOS?
Why is i386-elf-gcc essential?
Has anybody used i386-elf-gcc and libidl from another source than MacPorts?
I'm just a silly old git who would like to avoid the duplicate toolbox tree that MacPorts uses (like fink). I tinker with other open source stuff that uses the standard tools in the standard paths.
i386-elf-gcc from MacPorts currently does not build on 10.5.1. There is a ticket out for that, and the error msg that I got was beyond my comprehension, sorry...

I 've managed to compile i386-elf-gcc from MacPorts with the workaround found
here.
But i still can't compile VB.

Yes, Installing Mac OS X as guest on X86 VirtualBox is possible by following method.

It worked well for me, just for testing purpose.
