an interesting request

dear virtualbox gurus and honorable members
i have been pulling my hair on this problem for about a month, please any pointers would be highly appreciated. so here goes:
i have been testing a high speed usb device on my guest os (centos 5.5) by connecting it via a serial port through virtualbox. the usb device has drivers only for windows 7 (host os) and hence i cannot directly attach the device to centos
so here is what i do:i first install the drivers for win7 and then connect the device, device is recognized by device manager as high speed bluetooth dongle, then i find out the com port (serial port) used by the device - currently it is com12, then i connect this com port in virtualbox through --> enable serial port --> port number - COM1 ---> Port mode - host device ---> Port/file path - com12.
i then start my guest (centos) and detect the device as analog modem, the problem is when i do data transfer, the speed is limited to 1.5 Mb/sec when the device has capacity for 10 Mb/sec, i reckon that the speed limitation is on the serial port that i am using in virtualbox i.e. the serial port is an emulated serial port that was provided on old PC and it is not a virtual com port found in windows for communicating to usb like devices.
what i need is to somehow add a serial port having no speed limitation via virtualbox so that i can use the device in high speed mode in the guest os.
i may even modify the source code of virtualbox to add this functionality. if it is not possible please direct me to any other solution.
thanks in advance.
