Host : ubuntu 10.04, guest1 :win xp, guest2 : bt4.
VM version :3.2.12 r68302
NIC : Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5754 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02) info from ifconfig.
Installed tg3.
NAT works for both guests.
I only see the Intel PRO cards in the VM GUI, I could be mistaken (pretty sure I'm) but shouldn't the Broadcom selected for the bridging to work?

Re: network card is missing in vm gui
There is no real hardware in a VM. Read Wikipedia, Manual or something else to know what Virtualization is.

Re: network card is missing in vm gui
You have not understand.
In your VM is not recognised your real hardware.
You will check bridging and the Interface "eth0" and the type of the nic recognised in your host. And this is Intel E 1000 in some variants and an old amd nic.
Again: Read the manual to understand this.

Re: network card is missing in vm gui
It's also explained in the VirtualBox FAQ. Quite a failure on the user side to miss that as well before asking questions here
.

Re: network card is missing in vm gui
Glad you see it from a funny side
. Knowing everything isn't fun either though. But reading on a few things before starting to ask things is generally a good idea. Especially if you get such a thing in a 'must read' message
.
