is this possible?

Post by infuscomus »

I was wondering if it was possible to get 3d acceleration on Windows 95/98 VMs?
and if yes, to load a glide wrapper into it to play old windows glide games?

3D is only available after you install the Guest Additions (OpenGL will be available, DirectX is a separate option in the GA installer). Since there are no guest additions for Win 9x, you won't have 3D there. You can try Windows XP with those games and hope your glide wrapper works with OpenGL. I wouldn't bet on DirectX with the glide wrapper, as it's not perfect.

VBOX is OpenSource. Yes, you can try it.

This was discussed several times. There are no Guest Additions for Win98. And Oracle/Sun wont develop some.
