"Memory cannot be read"

Post by jimoe »

MacOS 10.6
VB v4.0.0 (and v.3.2.x)
WinXP guest sp3, latest updates

When QuickBooks 2008 exits, this error message pops up:
The instruction at "0x56461f49" referenced memory at "0x02b94630". The memory cannot be read.
Hmm. This message also appeared when the VM guest was running on a Linux host; the VM was exported from Linux and imported to iMac.

Given that the same error (although the numbers change a bit) has occurred on two different hosts, the problem would seem to be in the VM.

Would this point to a application flaw?
Any ideas why memory is unreadable?

This could indeed point to an application flaw, but not VB's. I think it's the software that gives this error, QuickBooks, that's the problem. Is it an official, genuine version? What does event viewer say about this error? It should always tell you what is the problematic module is (a .dll file usually).
