VirtualBox 4 GUI crashes when accessing VM settings

Post by penyuan »

3/4 of the time, in the current VirtualBox 4.0 GUI running on my Mac OS X 10.6.5 host, whenever I click on Settings to configure my guest machines (regardless of guest OS), the GUI immediately crashes.
VBoxManage seems to work fine, and the strange thing is how this crash seems to happen at random, again about 3/4 of the time.
Any ideas?

Hi there, I am seeing the same crash.

When I run virtualbox from the command line, I see:
QInotifyFileSystemWatcherEngine::addPaths: inotify_add_watch failed: No such file or directory
Qt WARNING: QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /home/gareth/.config/ibus/bus
Qt WARNING: Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address.
Segmentation fault
(I am running linux, not mac.)

By the way, I can't see my Host-only Networks and Installed Extensions in VirtualBox preferences!
This is annoying not only because I DO have an extension installed, but also because I can't modify my host-only networks!
Not sure if this issue is related to the crashes.
