Unable to read an audio cd...

Post by Chevels »

Hello :) ,
I am facing a new problem: I can not play audio CD in my Windows guest (the cd is not recognized). I know the problem is known but I have not found a solution. Again, many posts in French forums but no solution is proposed.
Is it possible to play an audio cd in a guest system?

Some info on my system:
Virtualbox 4.0
Host: XP SP3
Guest: XP SP2

Bye bye

did you check the "Passthrough" option in the VBox guest storage CD-drive settings?

There is no solution - Audio CD is not supported.

It is possible to play an audio CD in the guest if passthrough is enabled. Some software might still not work though because there are several ways to play an audio CD. We tried Windows Media Player on XP and 7 which worked.

Thank you very much! With the "passtrough" option enabled audio CDs are recognized and work :D .

Good evening (or good day because I don't know what time it is for you)

Fantastic! Why isn't that toggle on by default? Thank you very much for this extremely valuable help.
