I boot off an ISO of Red Hat Enterprise 6 workstation, and it loads the menu, asking how to boot. I tell it to Install or Upgrade (default) and it loads the "vmlinuz..." and "initrd.img..." It then gets to a "Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)...ok" and then crashes.
Attached is a screen-shot and the log (tar)...

Any ideas? I have Windows 7 setup on another VM with the exact same settings (with the exception of a different hard drive image) and it works fine....

Re: Red Hat Enterprise 6 hangs after probing edd
can you enable AMD-V hardware virtualisation in the host BIOS? maybe that could helpCode: Select all
00:00:00.876 HWACCM: No VT-x or AMD-V CPU extension found. Reason VERR_SVM_DISABLED

Re: Red Hat Enterprise 6 hangs after probing edd
I couldn't find anything in my BIOS settings about that. I do know that I am NOT booted in the "PAE" kernel (Fedora 14). Every time I try to boot using that kernel it hangs right before starting the xserver (can't figure it out either...). I don't know if this has anything to do with it though. However, I do have "Enable PAE/NS" enabled in the processor tab of System Settings. When I disable it and try to boot, it complains saying that the kernel requires PAE:
Any other ideas? Perhaps it's a problem with my Fedora installation not being able to boot into the PAE kernel. Which if that's the case, I'm in the wrong forum...

Exact same error
Host Windows Server 2003
Guest Scientific Linux Alpha 5 (aka RH6)
No way in menu I could find to add edd=off as linux command line parameter
