Installing Guest Additions

I'm sure this should be simple, but for some reason I can't get this working.
The host is XP Pro SP3. Virtualbox 4.0.0., for guests I'm using Windows 7 and Server 2008 Enterprise 32bit.

Everything works fine. But when I click on Devices>Install Guest additions, nothing happens. I tried it at work first. Just tried it at home. Same problem. I tried Devices>CD/DVD Devices>Choose a Virtual CD/DVD disk file, and picked the guest additions ISO. Didn't help.

I went by the online users manual. After the automatic method didn't work, I tried the manual method. In step #2:
Select "Mount CD/DVD-ROM" from the "Devices" menu in the virtual machine's menu bar and then "CD/DVD-ROM image".
That option isn't listed under Devices. And, I don't see anything under devices that says "CD/DVD-Rom image".

How can I get the guest additions installed?
Thanks.

You can click on the CD/DVD section under devices and select to unmount the CD/DVD and then click on install guest additions again or just open your file manager, go to the CD/DVD and run them from there.

JohnB352,

Do you have autorun disabled in the images for your guests?

Were you talking about autostart for the dvd drive? I couldn't find where to check that. Normally I'd go to Properties for the drive, and go to the autostart tab. Didn't find that. But, got guest additions installed. Thanks.

Guest additions seems to only be working properly from the first cdrom drive, mounting it on others creates some odd issues :\

on my cd 4th drive for instance, it opens the file association dialogue when clicking autorun, and my third cd drive doesn't
