I was running into space problems with my original 8gb Ubuntu .vdi, so I decided to resize it.

I ran VBoxManage modifyhd --resize 30720 to bump the max size from 8GB to 30GB, but it doesn't seem like Ubuntu is recognizing the extra space.

running df:

Thanks in advance.

You must resize partitions in the guest os. You have only more free space on the image, but the partitions have the same size as before.
