I just bought and downloaded some photography software, went to start it, and found out that it only runs on OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard. I've got OSX 5.0 Leopard. Everything is running great right now, including Virtual Box. So before I buy Snow Leopard and install it, I wonder if anyone sees any problems I might have with Virtual Box by doing the upgrade. Is it a plug and play deal? Will I need to reinstall Virtual Box? Currently I'm running Windows XP Pro inside VB and absolutely can't lose any information - this has to work. Please share any thoughts, good or bad, you might have. Thanks!
And Happy New Year!!

Re: Any VB problems if upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard
Create a backup at all times! Then you can upgrade to 10.6 after which you MUST reinstall VB because of kernel drivers. If you do not reinstall VB, all kinds of errors will pop up. But other than that, there shouldn't be any problem. As long as you have a backup of your VM configuration and VDI (located in ~/Library/VirtualBox) you should always be able to get back to where you were with the VM, even if the upgrade fails and you are forced back to 10.5.

Thanks Sasquatch. If I reinstall Vbox, does that mean I have to reinstall windows xp and all the software I've loaded in the virtual machine?

No, the program is separated from it's user settings. Same way if you remove an application, then install it again, you will have all the settings you made before still there.
