Hello,
I am looking at a desktop on Ebay with the following specs... I would like some advice for running VB and which desktop would be best based on a Ubuntu Host 10.10
Both desktops come with 8Gb ram (16Gb max) and I would run the following hosts at the same time.
Guest 1 = Windows XP running Solarwinds Engineers Addition (Allocated 2Gb RAM)
Guest 2 = Windows 2003 Server running Cisco ACS (Allocated 2Gb RAM)
Guest 3 = Windows 2003 Server running Cisco LMS (Allocated 2Gb RAM)
Desktop1
AMD AM3 250 Dual Core 3.0ghz 2mb Cache
8Gb DDR3 1333 PC10660 RAM
Desktop 2
AMD Phenom 955 AM3 Quad Core 3.2ghz 6mb Cache
8Gb DDR3 1333 PC10660 RAM
Obviously Desktop 2 is more powerful but money is tight. Would Desktop 1 be suitable for my VB needs.
Also will Ubuntu 10.10 see 2 x PCI generic network cards and would I be able to allocate these NICs to each individual guest
Thanks

Re: CPU advice for VB
Cisco ACS has pretty low requirements. So should work fine. You can lower it's RAM to 1 GB.
System 1 is probably adequate for those needs.

Thanks for answering my post. Sorry to avoid any confusion. Are you saying that System 1 would be more then adequate to run all all 3 guests at the same time?
