I am unable to get VBox to recognize the DVDRW as a writer. It reads fine but won't write. The DVDRW is actually a blue-ray player as well. Passthrough is on and still no luck. I find that this is not limited to VirtualBox but also iTunes on WINE. I have tried both iTunes and WinAmp with no issue. I tried a Trial version of NoteBurner which acts as a virtual DVD writer and that works just fine. It makes me think that Vbox (and WINE for that matter) can tell what kind of drive it really is. Anyone else have this issue?

The emulated CD/DVD is fully supported for read only. CD/DVD write is experimental and there is no guarantee that it will work with pass-through enabled.
