how to use 1920x1080 resolution for RHEL 6?

I upgraded to VirtualBox 4.0.0, and have Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0
as the guest OS, but the max resolution that I can select for it in System -> Preferences -> Display
is 1360 x 768, although the resolution of my laptop is 1920 x 1080.

The host OS is Windows 7.

How can I use the max resolution of 1920 x 1080 (or basically the full screen inside Windows 7 possibly
minus the bar at the bottom) for RHEL 6 in VirtualBox 4.0.0 on Windows 7?

Thank you so much!

You install the guest additions (in the guest) and use the mouse click and drag or the host+F toggle to go in and out of full screen

But what do I need to install in order to get the resolution to 1920 x 1080 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 inside VirtualBox 4.0.0
on Windows 7?

The question is not how does one install linux additions, the *CENSORED* question is: what controls/sets the virtual box resolutions available that it is reporting to the guest operating system via its virtual display device.

For what its worth, I've got a similar problem. Windows 7 x64 running as a guest on a Widows 7 x64 host.
The native monitor resolution, and the resolution the host Win7x64 runs at : 1920x1200, a widescreen display.

The resolutions available to the Win7x64 guest os inside Virtual Box on that system top out at: 1400x1050, which gets me a pillar-box 4:3 screen inside of the my 16:9 monitor.

Based on my futzing with settings, it may be the resolution choices are affected by the overall memory size given to the guest OS in the the virtual box, combined with the video memory given to the guest OS... but what settings might lead one to use a full resolution capability of the host monitor is beyond me.

By looking at 'all modes' for the "Generic Non-PnP Monitor" there is no 1920x1200 mode available on my system; 1400 by 1050 is the highest resolution in the list.

It may not be the question that you asked, since you did not. You're not even in the right forum, This is Linux as guest.

You install the guest additions (in the guest) then you use the mouse drag or the host+F toggle to go to full screen.
Read Chapter 4. Guest Additions in your VirtualBox users manual.
