Instal Oracle 10g XE

Hi I recently switched to apple and current I am running on Mac OS X
Since I am not able to instal Oracle DB On my OS, I decided to go with VirtualBOX.
Successfully installed VB and WIndows XP. Downloaded 10g software from oracle site
But to my surprise the file I downloaded was just shown as file format instead of windows executable format?
Do we have special instructions to instal oracle 10g on VB WIn XP. I tried on my old windows PC and it works perfectly fine over there

Why not just download 10.2.0.4 for MacOSX. I don't believe there are any 11g databases for MacOSX yetm but you can go to the download page on the Oracle site (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/datab ... index.html) and scroll down to see the 10g Release 2 download for MacOSX. I have not tried myself, so if you do let me know how it works out.

Thanks for the link. I went through the documentation, I see the oracle version is compatible for MAC OS X 'Server'. Is the Server version diff from the MAC OS X version.
FYI, I am trying to install in MAC Pro laptop. The one that I have os 10.6.5, snow leopard
