VirtualBox 4.0 Pausing guest

I recently upgraded VirtualBox 4.0.0 from 3.2.12.
Host OS: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick) 64-bit
Guest OS: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
The problem I am having is the guest OS keeps getting paused periodically. I have installed Oracle's extension pack and updated the guest additions in the guest. I couldn't find anything in the manual or the settings for the guest.
I realize this is probably a neat feature for some, but I can't use VBox like.

What do you mean exactly about paused?
Paused / resume or does the guest freeze and you need to abort and restart?

Pause/resume, like on the Machine menu. The guest does not crash.

I seemed to have the same 'problem' with XP guest on a Vista notebook host.
The XP guest also showed the dialog that it was preparing to suspend. Digging a bit deeper I noticed that the guest Power Options have the 'Suspend' option added after installation of the v4.0 GA. Since I never changed the power profile it was set to suspend XP after 15 minutes or so.
So it looks to me that it is a feature: VBox pauses the VM when the guest goes into suspend mode.
If you don't want this to happen simply switch to a different power profile or switch off the suspend option.
Gr,
Dirk.

And check the log when it goes to pause. It's always noted there why it goes to pause. Various things can pause the VM, like out of memory or disk space.

That got it, it was the power plan settings. Thanks!
