I'm a long-time VB user, but every time I have the same problem with each upgrade: VB loads when OSX boots, but it seems to create a noticeable lag on the OS's startup; I've booted repeatedly in verbose, and each time I can see my system hanging for almost thirty seconds right before the VB kext are loaded. Right after that, the system startup proceeds nicely, but before that, man, is it long!
So, long story short, and barring from re-installing Parallel ($$$$...), I'd like to find a way to prevent VB from loading during startup AND be able to use it! I've tried to remove the VB plist file from StartupItems once, and I just couldn't get VB to launch. I had to reinstall it to make it work...
Ideas, anyone...?
Edit: I'm on Snow Leopard (10.6.5)
