Why VirtualBox 4.0 cannot support for copying files to guest

Post by qwe12301 »

The same to the topic.

I've heared the new version of Virtual Box can support copying files to the guest system directly ,but I couldn't find out the function.

If anyone knows how to use it ,could you help me?I just couldn't understand why the copying fuction isn't used so easy as VMWare Workstation 7?

Thank you ! :D

Shared Folders (via GUI) or Guest Control (via CLI)

Read "4.7. Guest control"

In one of the beta topics this was also a question and one of Oracle employee said that guest suport using CLI is first step. In one of future versions it will be added of copy/paste from host to guest.

If you really need this feature, and you are using windows as host and guest. You can try Ditto, an opensource clipboard enhancement, which supports clipboard nentwork share. And it support not only text and bitmap but also files to be copied and pasted between computers directly.
