New to VirtualBox

Post by bentleycntlgt »

So I got an itch to play CounterStrike 1.6, and some other games I have for Windows. I also just wanted to geek out a little bit and get Windows running on my Mac.

I installed VirtualBox with no problem, then when going over some discs in my desk I found a copy of Windows XP. I think there are two discs, but I put one in and off it went. I now have Windows XP running on virtualbox. The problem is, I can't connect to the internet. Windows is there, I can navigate it, but it doesn't really work. I can't detect my wireless network to even begin to play games on it.

I've read that I should have a second disc, that contains drivers that Windows needs. I do have a second disc, but I can't get virtualbox to read it and open it in Windows. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks :)

Hey mate you dont need the driver disk you need to install VB guest additions which is in the machine pull down list just run that and accept everything and the VM will work fine.
On another note with counter strike source you will not be able to run games on Virtual Box at least i cant as the graphics cannot cope with it in the virtual machine (If i am wrong about this i would like to know ).You can run counter strike on a mac now any ways.
