Hi
I? a new user to Ubuntu and VirtualBox. Windows7´s startup is ending with a bsod:
Stop: c000021a Fatal System Error
The initial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of
0x00000000 (oxc0000017 0x001003a8).
The system has been shut down.
Re-installing of VB didn´t help.It happened once, before the bsod´s apeard, that the startup of windows7 continued longer and the installations process was even getting started (I had to stop it because of lack of memory on the partition).
The cd of windows7 functions out of VB without any problem.
What can be the problem?
Thanks
S.

Hi
I installed today VB 4.0.0 and hoped that windows7 bsod will not apear again but I got another variation of Error (see screenshot).
I will be very happy about suggestions for a possible solution.
Thanks

Re: Bsod running windows7 on VB under ubuntu 10.10
I had similar problem as well. Not sure if exact.
To correct, I created a 20gb NTFS partition on my hard drive. Then saved the win7 virtual drive on the partition. I named my partition 'windows' so you save the virtual drive under /media/windows/
Then everything installed, updated, and has rebooted without problems. Not sure why it worked but it did.

Hi
I was now getting rid of all old VB-ose fragments and thanks to your help here in the forum, I also installed VB properly, with all necessary parts.
I? still getting the blue screen with the BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO
Does someone have an idea for a possible solution?

Re: Bsod running windows7 on VB under ubuntu 10.10
How much RAM have you allocated to the VM? I had the exact same error, and then I bumped the RAM up to 2048 for the install (I believe the minimum for Win 7 is 1024, but I wanted to be sure) and that seems to have made the error go away. After I've got the system installed, I will drop it back to 1024

I've encountered the bsod and found that my issue was resolved by changing the storage controller from sata to ide.

I had the exact same problem and increasing RAM to 2048 during installataion helped Windows to install successfully. Thanks a lot hamiltont.
