I've searched on this, but can't find my issue.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 with Virtualbox 3.2.8_OSE r64453 and am trying to install a new guest. I create my VM and tell it to boot from CD, but when I start the machine up, I get nothing but a black screen. Most of the time I don't even hear the CD drive spin up.
What in the world is going on?
EDIT: Just solved it. I've never had this happen before, but I had to go into the settings and tell the optical drive to act as a passthrough. (there's a checkbox for 'passthrough' within the storage section.) odd.

Re: Black screen when trying to install guest?
And what is the Guest exact? And what hardware do you have (free RAM, HD)? And what is the exact Guest Configuration?
