Gents,
I run an XP-Box on a Linux host, and would like to do an offline virus scan - boot from a CD (Linux-base as well), update program and signatures and then scan.
I have transferred the desinfec't CD to a USB-stick, which has the advantage that I do not have to run the full update cycle each time I boot. But is there a way to boot the virtual machine from a USB-device? It does at least not give the option to do so.
To create an ISO-Image from the USB-device and attach it as CD-ROM to the host is IMHO not an option
Cheers!
Boot from USB-device

Re: Boot from USB-device
The guest BIOS doesn't support booting from USB.

This has been asked in the past, so you should've searched as noted in the Forum Posting Guide before opening this topic. It's currently not supported. Locked, too easy to find with a quick google query.
