Xp Direct X 9c Help

Hey guys i am running win 7 as the host my guest is Xp. I am trying to play sims 2 and for some reason i keep geting a direct x error Direct 3d returned an Error: D3derr_InvaildCall! the app will now terminate, If any one can give me some help that would be great. ohh one other thing i follow this websites instructions to install direct x

You can not install video drivers in the guest. What you should do is install the guest additions (in the guest) in safe mode and select the 3D drivers to be installed, as explained in your users manual.

Yes i did that I am still geting the error and was wondering if some one else had tryed play sims 2 see posably if this the game. But i have done under chapter 13 Known Limitations Direct 3D support in Windows guests. For this to work, the Guest Additions must be installed in Windows "safe mode". Press F8 when the Windows guest is booting and select "Safe mode", then install the Guest Additions. Otherwise Windows' file protection mechanism will interfere with the replacement DLLs installed by VirtualBox and keep restoring the original Windows system DLLs.
