Subject says it all. Is this a known issue or a problem specific to my setup? Thanks in advance.

Must be your setup, 'cause I have no problems with the default 2.6.35 kernels in Ubuntu. What do you get as error? It might be your video driver that's causing a problem. You give very little information, which indicates you haven't read the Forum Posting Guide.

I wasn't sure what info was relevant. Ubuntu wouldn't boot and the screen remained blank with a cursor at the top left corner.
I have since read the Posting Guidelines and having reverted to a previous snapshot, was unable to reproduce the issue.

Thanks for the guidance.
