Host Key [Right Ctrl] Not Assigned

Virtualbox: 3.2.12
Host: Ubuntu 10.04
Guest: Ubuntu 10.10 Server (no X11)

Seems I'm having an issue with the default installation, in that the [Right Ctrl] is not assigned.

Upon checking in the Preference->Input->Host key settings dialog window neither [Ctrl] button can be recognised/assigned.

Sounds like a problem with the keyboard itself. If you start a terminal and run 'xev', what do you get when you hit either ctrl key? You should see something come by. This is the output on my PC with working left and right ctrl:
